Thanks for the 'update' on the Lakewood stations. I find it amusing that FDNY can still use (some) century old buildings, that apparatus must be 'wedged-in' single bay, double deep, some with three storys, window a/c units hanging out of of every window, no apron whatsoever. While other cities (think they must) smash stations that are still capable of service for many years to come, and erect $40 million dollar (state-of-the-art) buildings, with drive-thru bays...which require more property and concrete surface, central a/c in the bays, special work-out areas, all stainless steel appliances, and there is FDNY, one of the largest cities on planet earth...still backing apparatus in at an angle to accomodiate all the rigs...still plugging along just fine. LOL
