Ohio Fire Stations
« on: September 20, 2002, 10:21:18 PM »
Washington, Ohio
Notice the original station along with City Hall to the right and the addition constructed on the left during the 1960's.

Much has changed in Washington since this postcard view of the fire house was printed.  Looking at the photo above it is easy to see which buildings were removed for the construction of the station addition.  The hose tower at the rear of the station is no longer standing.  The engine in this view is a 1913 Ahrens-Fox model A piston pumper.

A firehouse with a big hose tower!  Canal Dover operated this beauty.

Delphos was still using this building as their station in 1997.

This station was built for the Barberton F.D. in 1904.  Their Webb engine is out front.

Bellefontaine no longer uses this station.  An Ahrens-Fox Model-A pumper is shown.

Anyone have a photo of the Toledo station that is a sister to YFD station 1? That station posted looks similar, but I don't think it's the one...

This building was formerly the quarters of Engine Company 6 in Lima.  Look at the "Fire Station Number 6" in the stonework over the doorways!

Located at LaFayette & Main Streets on the south side of town, this station was just a block away from the Lima Locomotive Works.  The combination of brick and stone gave this house a very pleasing appearance.  Also, notice the dormers up in the bunk room.

Steve Hagy photos.

Great pics of the staions..I like the one of Lima Sta 6. I was just up in lima a few months ago. Lima has reserve engine 6 housed at central station downtown.   I spent a lot of time in Lima as a kid, and remember the trucks used to be white.  I'll try and get some pics of the volunteer sta in that area :D
