Seagrave goes up in smoke while in station, Mansfield, Mass. 2-13-19

A 2009 Seagrave engine was consumed by a fire approximately 4 hours after it returned from a call.
The engine belongs to the Mansfield,Mass. FD, and was quartered at Station 1, a classic 1930's station on Mansfield's Main St.
I visited this station several times as a child in the 1960s, and attended a large parade/muster here in summer, 1967.

While the engine was destroyed, a brush truck and a borrowed reserve engine were not damaged.
2 ambulances will undergo smoke damage repair.
4-person crew made a valiant effort to remove vehicles and attack blaze before help arrived from Mansfield Sta.2, and 4 neighboring towns. 2 crew members were transported for minor injuries.
The approx. 85 yr. structure suffered smoke and water damage, and with the new Sta. 1 just 4 months away from completion, I hope the station is fully repaired.
