This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions!
What do you mean "biblical"?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcanos! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Schoharie, NY

Their station was flooded with approximately 5 feet of water by the floods that struck the Northeast this past fall.  They are storing most of their fleet in an abandoned tractor barn, and keeping their tanker in the left bay of the local ambulance.  Their original station is still standing, but has been gutted down to the studs.  It was recently announced that a new station will be built at the location of their current quarters (FEMA won't pay to rebuild a station in a flood zone).

I was there a week after Irene came through. What a mess it was. It was sad to see pics of the firehouse in the middle of the flood. There first temp station was the village bus garage but they had to move when school started up.  Im gonna be going back at the 1yr mark to visit the town and take pics.   I fo have a ? though.....The 3 trucks inside the barn, I see on the left is a Pierce pumper...Did they get a new truck or did they have one break down?  The only truck I dont see in the Ford f800 pumper/Hose tender.

The Pierce on the left is an early 90's Dash, that was a donation from Glen Aubrey, NY.  Glen Aubrey recently got a 1991 International/E-one used from Trumansburg NY, I guess it was a replacement for the Dash.

Oh ok....Intresting fact......  When I was assinged to  schoharie school where the Fire Opps were the Buffalo FD was incharge of that area and they were useing the old dash as Buffalo E-2 and the Fliner as Buffalo E-1.  I told one of the guys from SFD that they should get  stickers made up and put that on the trucks.

This is a real 'classic'...looks like it has two 'additions' over the years for a growing dept., glad they didn't smash it down like many do today.   :-)
