AKRON_"new truck"?
« on: August 27, 2014, 08:13:31 AM »
"Akron has one new firetruck and 15 new firefighters.

The city unveiled its new truck — the first it has bought in two years — and gave the oath of office Wednesday evening to the cadets.

The truck, which has the capabilities of both a pumper and a ladder truck, will be located in Station 10 in Kenmore. The $692,000 cost was paid mostly with a $480,000 federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant, with the city making up the rest, Fire Chief Rob Ross said.

“It’s only through the grant that we were able to get this truck,” said Ross, noting that the city doesn’t have much to spend on new fire equipment and has mostly been refurbishing vehicles."

I wonder what the 'NEW' truck is...sounds like a is Quint.........?

It is a 75ft Pierce Quint. The Engine went to station 13, the ladder went to station 8. Tower 10 and med 10 will not be a combo unit. They will be separate units, since tower 10 will be playing dual roles. That is per one of my good friends who is a Lt there and was on he truck committee. I will try to get him to send me pictures again.
