On the rear cover of the 2005-1 issue of SPAAMFAA's Enjine!Enjine! there was a 1967 GMC 4X4/Bruco pumper serving on a ranch near Alpine,TX. Truck is kept fully loaded.

I know some of the big money horse farms around Lexington, Ky had something like a brush truck, but most did away with  them due to insurance issues. The closest thing I have to a farm FD is the old 1966 Ford/ALF at the Keeneland horse race track in Lexington across from the airport. They no longer use it for fire protection. Given what some of those horses are worth, I'm surprised they don't.

Back in the late 1980s and early 90s in the Texas Panhandle we would often run on wildfires on ranches.  Most of the ranches had sprayers, but every now and then a fire truck would show up.  The one I remember most was from the Boling ranch near Amarillo.  It was a tandem axle Mack R (maybe a DM) with a round tank around 1500 gallons.  I saw it several times.

MANY  PRIVATE FIRE DPTS  AT RAC TRAKS  LARGE
FARMS   USED TO HAVE  SMALL MINI PUMPERS   BUT OVER YEARS  IT SORT OF  NEVER NEEDED SO WHY FIX  IT

MY FRIEND IN HAWAII  SENT PHOTOS ETC OF LARGE SUGAR KANE  FIELD FIRE,WOW  FIRE WAS AROUND 100  FEET  HIGH   FOR MILES .    AND THEY HAD NO FIRE FIGHTING  LET THE CITY FD FIGHT IT

I AM AMAZED  AT THE LACK OF VOL FIRE DEPTS   WHERE THE WILD FIRES ARE    THEY DEPEND ON FIRE CAL,   TOWNS OF 7700  PEOPLE  I AM TALKING ABOUT

ALL THIS  BURNED HOMES  MIGHT HAVE BEEN S AVED  BY SIMPLE THINGS    FIRE PROOF ROOF , AND  CLEAR
BRUSH AND  LEAVES ETC  AWAY FROM TH HOME    IT WORKS.     BUT  THEY WANT TREES  AND BRUSH NEAR BY  AND IF THEY
EVER HAVE A LAW  TO CLEAR AREAS    AND THEY DON;T  THEN INMSURANCE  SHOULD BE DENIED  AND NO FEMA  MONEY AFTER   WARD ..  SOME PEOPLE WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGHT TO REBUILD  THE WAY IT WAS    NJ IS A GOOD EXAMPLE  HOMES  HAVE TO BE BUILT HIGHER THEN THE FLOOD  SOLME  ARE VERY HIGH ON STILLTS  NOW  AND THE WORSE TIOS  THEY HAD INSURANCE WHEN BUILT  B UT REBUILDING COST ARE MUCH HIGHER

Back in the '60s, Rockingham Park in Salem, NH was a popular horse racing track, both thoroughbred and harness meets were held from Spring
through Fall. Due to the large stable area, all wood, plus many accessory buildings, a "fire department" was on scene. The "department" consisted
of a small office building with a "fire truck" parked outside. The truck was a former track water truck, a green Mack "E" model, a larger one such as
a "EM" or "EQ", with a few lengths of 1 1/2" hose draped over the front fender. I'm not sure who manned the truck, probably track personnel.
There were several large barn fires over the years so I imagine this truck saw some action assisting the full time Salem department. Ironically, in
1980, long after the "department " was disbanded, a $15 million fire destroyed the grandstand. It was rebuilt but now is just a simulcast facility but
the old wooden stables are still there, in disrepair and ripe for another major fire. "Firehouse" magazine, October, 1980, has a good article on this fire.
I wish that I had a photo of that old Mack.

Our little farm started out with a hand pump sprayer for small fires,
Moved up to water extinguishers, then pick up with 200 gal tank with 25 gpm nozzle,
Then we moved up to pumper & tanker & so on
