The Woodlands Fire Department is located 30 miles North of Houston in Montgomery County and Harris County Texas. The Woodlands is a master planned community of 27,000 acres with a population of 95,000 residents. We are an ISO 2 career department of 141 full time personnel running out of 8 fire stations. The Woodlands recently signed a 10 year agreement to provide contract fire service to the City of Shenandoah. We are the only fire department ALS first responder in Montgomery County. We have a minimum manning of 4 personnel with at least one paramedic on each appartus. Ambulance service for the Woodlands is provided by the Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) which staffs ALS ambulances in 3 of the Woodlands Fire Stations. Creekside Forest the newest part of the Woodlands is located in Harris County and EMS is provided by Cypress Creek EMS which staffs an ambulance in the newest Woodlands Station 7. All stations are single company stations except for Central Station which has a ladder company, engine company and a Battalion Chief. We have a fully equipped Rescue Truck at Station 6 and a fully equipped HazMat truck at Station 2. Station 4 houses a Booster Truck for wildland firefighting. The Woodlands Fire Department also employs 15 fulltime dispatchers that provide 911 dispatching for 14 departments in Montgomery County. The Woodlands also has an Emergency Training Center (ETC) which has a training tower and other state of the art facilities that provide not only firefighting and hazmat training but also is used by the Lonestar College, other fire departments, local and federal law enforcement training. Finally we have just broken ground on a new 7.8 million dollar Central Fire Station that will be completed in 2014. More information on our department can be seen at the Woodlands Township website or The Woodlands Professional Firefighters website. We are Local 3846.
