Princeton, MA Fire Dept.
« on: May 20, 2011, 10:49:31 AM »
I figured I would start off with my department. We are a call department, with 3 structural engines, 2 brush trucks, a quint, a rescue, and 2 ambulances out of 2 stations. I will post what I have so far, and go from there.

1939 Ford 500 GPM pumper. This truck was homemade by the department members, and served until the early 1970s. It was the first in a long line of Fords that the department owned. She still competes in the area muster every June.

The bus is no longer with us  :-[ it got replaced several years ago. Some background on the bus, it was a 1980 Ford school bus bought new...it contained all the rescue equipment including extrication tools and a cascade system. Photo credit to MassFireTrucks.

It was the second bus we owned, the one it replaced was a 1950s version.

We have always had a knack for innovation...I'm going to work on getting some shots this weekend of our two brush trucks. One is a 5 ton AM General, the other is a deuce and a half and were both built in house.

   IrishFyr25:

You said that the 2006 Spartan/Smeal is your first new ladder truck. Where did Princeton's
Mack "C"/Maxim quint come from? That was a nice looking truck.

                                       bulldogboy

P.S. Did Princeton get hit with any of that severe weather that struck Springfield and Worcester
           County last Wednesday, June 1?

Bulldog, the Mack came from a department in Rhode Island, possibly Lincoln...there were two trucks before that...We did not have any damage aside from rain and thunder but we did send an engine for the structural task force.

Here is our Service Truck, a 1985 Chevy diesel/Reading that was originally used by the government. It is a support unit that goes out on service calls, equipment/manpower transportation, brushfires...etc.
