A mystery rig is this 1976 IH L-1700/1969 Sutphen 500/750, a very rural looking piece, why was it rechassied? was it always white? would that be an older front mount Barton/American pump?

This 1979 Chevy K-30 4X4/Pierce mini-rescue and the previous 6 rigs posted comprised the EFD fleet in 1983, at that time, IIRC, this unit was painted white and responded on extrication calls county-wide.
A1984 IH S/Pierce 1000/1000 would be the 1st delivery in the current silver/blue scheme.

Thanks for posting these!

Star City recently (within 2009 and now) sold it to Huttonsville-Mill Creek VFD in Randolph County, near where it originally served.  My info has it being a 1967 1000/300/75ft aerial.

The oldest EFD rig I' ve been able to find is a 1926 Seagrave of unknown specs. It was owned here in MD. during the late 1970's and 1980's.

Some additional info on some of the rigs posted above:

The 1970 Ford L-900/American may have been sold through Sutphen, who was a dealer for American for many years.  My Sutphen list shows a "1971 Ford" delivery for Elkins, yet there is no listing for the 1969/1976 International Loadstar/Sutphen.  The 1971 Ford carries the number HS-816.

The 1963 International CO-8190/Pirsch had Pirsch number PH-82.

The 1966 Sutphen 1000/300/75' tower is HS-483.

The yellow mini-pumper is a 1974 or 1975 International 1310/Pierce 250/250.

The 1979 Chevy K-30/Pierce rescue carries job number E-0475.  The top compartments were added after I shot it.

The 1981 International S-2500/Pierce pumper has job number E-0960.
