Newbie here!

I have just purchased a Gamewell,Hurculite alarm box. I have enjoyed reading (here) how these units operate
I'm sorry if my question has been answered here before.

The trip lever pulled right off. Can someoneone tell me how to remove the winding key (sorry if this is not the correct term) from a peerless mechanism?

This mechanism is quite clean for the most part but I want to remove a old spider nest from inside the clear plastic housing

Any help is appreciated.

Simply turn it the opposite direction from winding....it will unscrew.
