These are the photos of my trip to Cumberland City Fire Department in Cumberland, MD. They are a paid department with 3 engines, an engine/rescue, a utility, a tower ladder, and 4 ambulances. Cumberland City Fire Department has another engine, Engine 1-2, a 2008 Sutphen 1500/500 that wasn't in station when I was there.  Also I saw two of their ambos but they were coming down the opposite of the road, so I couldn't get pictures.  And the photo of the ambo in Central Station has oddly disappeared, but I'll post what I got, starting with the newest.

Cumberland FD has had 2 of its apparatus end up as stripped hulks in the local city park, the first was this 1931 Ahrens Fox Model V 500GPM/?(#7021) which was obtained from A-F in late 1942. Ahrens Fox was unable to finish CFD's 1942 Schacht chassis Model VC (#9090), so instead took an x-Spencerport,NY rig, rebuilt it, and delivered it to Cumberland at the end of 1942.A-F would not complete the 1942 rig until 1946, re#ed it as 9093, and delivered it to Warrenton,VA.
This 1931 rig would serve CFD for about 20 years, the last 10 or 12 years in reserve. It was placed in the park in the mid-1960's, by 1985 it was pretty well gone.

By 1990, CFD sent its 1958 ALF 800 series C-812-PKC #N-358 1250/300 to the park to replace the 31 Fox. It was stripped, kid-proofed and has been left to nature.
The big ALF 800 served as E-1 until 1968, and stayed in 1st line until 1976.

That's a waste of good fire trucks, TBH, to stip them and put them in a park.

Thanks to some old Kodachrome slides dated 1970, here is what CFD looked like, a mix of "modern", and classic. The last 2 apparatus obtained in 1968 were diesel-powered, but were open-cab, as was every other engine on the dept.
E-1 had the new 1968 Mack CF 1250/500 engine. It would be E-1 until 1973, and then become E-2 until 1987.

That is absolutely beautiful!  I love Mack CFs and the open cabs are extremely rare!
